Coaching Staff
BCS GOLD coaches are driven by their passion for football and a strong commitment to the success of their athletes. They combine sharp knowledge of the game with a deep dedication to fostering growth and development in a competitive yet supportive environment. Their enthusiasm, skill, and commitment make them effective leaders who inspire young athletes to reach their full potential.

Jake Jimenez
Coach Jimenez is the Varsity Head Coach of the Redondo Union High School Girls Flag Football Team, where he made an immediate impact by leading the Sea Hawks to a Bay League Championship in their inaugural season. In addition to his success on the field, Coach Jimenez is the Head Coach of the 15u Girls National Team For the United States and is also a West Coast regional scout for the US, helping identify and develop the next generation of talent.​

Michale Spicer
Coach Spicer has been part of the Pomona-Pitzer Football Coaching Staff since 2017. Spicer spent his playing career across the National Football League (NFL), United Football League (UFL) and Arena Football League (AFL). He was All-UFL First Team (2010), Team Defensive Lineman of the Year in 2008 for the for the New Orleans Voodoo and All-AFL Rookie Team.​ From 2010-2014 he coached at Bishop Montgomery High School where he helped the Knights to four-straight CIF playoffs berths.​ Spicer attended Western Carolina University and was All-American and First Team All-Southern Conference in 2002 and 2003.

JR Oshima
Coach O brings over a decade of experience in adult and youth flag football, both as a player and a coach. His passion for the game and expertise on the field have led him to his current role as Defensive Coordinator for both the Varsity and Junior Varsity teams at Redondo Union High School. Coach O is dedicated to developing and inspiring the next generation of athletes.​​​​​​​

Nick Carpino
Nick Carpino, a former all-area quarterback and team captain at Mira Costa High School, recently graduated from Auburn Universtiy and now serves as the Assistant Flag Football Coach at Vistamar High School. With a deep passion for sports and mentoring young athletes, Nick brings enthusiasm and experience to his coaching role. Each summer, he contributes as a coach at Future Five Stars Football Camp, where he enjoys helping young players develop their skills. ​

Chad Hall
Chad Hall is a professional arena football player gearing up for his rookie season with the Omaha Beef. Before joining the Omaha Beef, Chad played Division 1 football at Northern Arizona University as a tight end, where he honed his skills and developed as an athlete. Alongside his football career, Chad is a certified personal trainer who is passionate about sharing his expertise and enthusiasm for the sport. He is particularly excited about coaching youth flag football, bringing his experience on the field to inspire and develop young athletes.

JR Tavai
JR Tavai is a seasoned professional football player and dedicated coach with deep roots in the game. A standout linebacker and edge rusher, JR played his college football at USC, where he was known for his versatility, physicality, and leadership on defense. Following his time at USC, JR went on to play in the NFL for the Tennessee Titans and later built a successful career in the Canadian Football League (CFL), earning a reputation as a high-impact defender across multiple teams. His professional journey has taken him around the world, including time in the European League of Football (ELF), where he continued to excel as both a player and mentor. At BCS GOLD, JR brings a wealth of experience, a calm leadership presence, and a deep commitment to helping young athletes maximize their potential. His professional pedigree and passion for teaching make him a key pillar of the BCS GOLD coaching staff.

Jaggar Tavai
Coach Jaggar is a powerful presence on the BCS GOLD staff, bringing his experience as a standout defensive lineman at El Camino College. A graduate of Junipero Serra High School in Gardena, Jaggar earned recognition for his strength and toughness in the trenches before continuing his career at the collegiate level. At El Camino, he made an immediate impact as a freshman, playing in all 11 games and recording 27 tackles, including tackles for loss and a sack. With BCS GOLD, Coach Jaggar focuses on developing young athletes’ fundamentals, explosiveness, and confidence. His energy and passion for the game make him a strong role model and motivator for our players.

Antonio Malik
Coach Antonio was raised in St. Louis, Missouri, where his lifelong love for football first took root. His dedication to the game carried him through high school and earned him a scholarship to play at the college level. Driven by a passion for the outdoors and a love for great weather, Antonio made the move to Los Angeles ten years ago in search of new experiences. A few years back, he found a new calling in coaching, and today, guiding and mentoring young athletes on the football field has become his greatest passion. He now serves as the JV Head Coach for the Mira Costa High School Flag Football team, where he continues to inspire student-athletes both on and off the field.

Bryce Carlisle
Bryce Carlisle is an Inglewood native and former multi-sport athlete with experience at the high school and collegiate levels. A 2020 graduate of Mira Costa High School, he was a three-year varsity player who contributed on both sides of the ball, lining up at running back, cornerback, safety, and linebacker.

Prior to Mira Costa, Bryce was part of a Mission League Championship team at Junípero Serra High School and earned First-Team All-Bay League honors as a senior. He continued his football career at El Camino College, Clarke University, and Midland University.

This fall, Bryce will join the coaching staff at Mira Costa High School, bringing his experience full circle.

Sophie Guitron
Sophie Guitron is a senior at Mira Costa High School with a deep passion for flag football. As a player, Sophie has made impressive strides in the sport, including playing on the 2024 USA 17U girls flag football team. Representing her country against top teams worldwide stands out as her favorite flag football memory. Now, as a coach, Sophie is excited to share her knowledge and experiences with the next generation of flag football players.

Vaishnav Siddapureddy
Coach Vaish is currently part of the Pomona-Pitzer Football staff after a four-year playing career with the Sagehens that ended in 2022. During his playing career, Viash was a starter in the secondary for a Sagehen squad that earned the program's first ever SCIAC Championship in 2022 with their best season in program history and first ever trip to the NCAA Playoffs. ​

Alex Bisnieaks
Coach Alex's journey with youth sports began 15 years ago when he was hired by the City of Torrance, where he discovered his passion for coaching football. Since then, he has become deeply involved in all aspects of BCS. As a coach, he has led his teams to multiple BCS Super Bowl appearances, and now serves as Head Coach of the inaugural BCS Stingrays 11U tackle team. In addition to coaching, Coach Alex has served as a BCS Flag Football Official for the past four years. He is eager to embark on this next chapter with BCS GOLD and continue making an impact.

David Bugdanowitz
David Bugdanowitz graduated as a team captain of Mira Costa's football team in 2020. He began coaching with BCS Flag Football and is now in his fourth season as Head Coach for Vistamar High School's Varsity Flag Football team. His first year was a record-setting season, with the team making it all the way to the finals, and this season, they are currently undefeated. Every summer, David works at Future Five Stars camp with kids aged 8-13. Working with such a wide range of age groups has helped him appreciate the values football instills in youth.

Jonah Tavai
A Southern California native, Jonah made a name for himself at San Diego State University, where he was a dominant force on the defensive line and earned All-Mountain West honors. After an impressive college career, Jonah transitioned to the professional level and currently plays for the BC Lions in the Canadian Football League (CFL). Off the field, he brings the same intensity and dedication to coaching, serving as a mentor and role model for players in the BCS GOLD program. His firsthand experience at the collegiate and pro levels makes him an invaluable asset to the development of the next generation of football talent.

Justus Tavai
Coach Justus brings a wealth of high-level experience and toughness to the BCS GOLD staff. A product of Mira Costa High School, he went on to play at Hawai‘i before finishing his career at San Diego State.​ Throughout college, Justus established himself as a consistent force on the defensive line. In 2023, he signed with the New England Patriots as a free agent, gaining firsthand insight into the standards and expectations of the pro level.​ His journey gives him a unique perspective to mentor our players and teach what it takes to succeed at every stage of the game.

David Arredondo
Coach Arredondo brings firsthand experience from the offensive side to the BCS GOLD staff. A product of Mira Costa High School, David starred as a quarterback, earning All-CIF recognition in his junior year for outstanding performance. At BCS GOLD, Coach David focuses on developing the QB position—emphasizing footwork, decision-making, mechanics, and leadership. His background as a high-performing high school quarterback gives him credibility and insight in mentoring young signal-callers to elevate their skills and command the offense with confidence.

Jeromie Park
Coach Jeromie grew up in Pittsburgh, PA where he played football through high school. He played rugby in college at Harvard and in grad school at the University of Pennsylvania before moving to Manhattan Beach 20 years ago. He has been coaching GBCS flag football since the program launched in 2023 and served as the Varsity Defensive Coordinator for the Mira Costa High School Flag Football Team during the 2025 season.
